The combination of elderflowers and peppermint has long been used with mead to enhance their collective medicinal qualities .

Mead with herbal infusions is traditionally called Metheglyn which has the reputation as being one of the first forms of medicine.

Meddyglyn and Metheglyn are both Welsh words meaning healing liquor.

For about three months these herbs have been seeped in the mead while it has been aging. The taste of the herbs together, or the elderflower on its own, can be identified in the flavours.
